Fathers Should Watch Their Diet When Trying to Conceive
Sarah Kimmins at McGill University in Montreal, conducted an experiment on male lab mice to see how a poor vitamin B9 diets affected the mice's offspring.
- Mice get their vitamin B9 from fruits, vegetables and meats.
When women are pregnant, they have to take supplements to increase the baby's health, and help prevent birth defects. During the study, the scientist were surprised to see that there was a 30% increase in birth defect from male mice who had poor diets. The deformities consisted of bone abnormalities, and spinal problems.
The findings from the rodents were also found to be true in humans. So if you are a male planing to have a child, make sure you have a balanced diet, as it could affect the health of your baby.
